Calboy1227's Photo Album 2
Here are some pictures of me from the summer of 2001. I was fortunate to have a chance to study under the U.S. Supreme Ct. Justice Anthony Kennedy in Europe for a few weeks. In the mean while, I also went to Italy and Germany just for fun. :) : For better viewing quality and bigger pix, simply right click on a pix and select "zoom out". SORRY, IF SOME PIX DON'T SHOW UP, PLEASE CLICK ON ON THE LINKS PROVIDED IN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PAGE TO RELOAD. DO NOT HIT THE RELOAD BUTTON.
Even though I took tons and tons and pictures in Europe, I didn't have time/energy/patience to scan them all. Oh well, at least I did scan quite a few of them in my spare time... => |
This page contains pictures of my trip to Europe in summer of 2001.
The person in the picture with me is U.S. Supreme Ct. Justice Anthony Kennedy. I enjoyed attending his Constitutional law class in Europe and learned a lot from him. Despite his status, Justice Kennedy's very down to earth and friendly. When he had time, it was not too difficult for anyone to strike a conversation with him at all.

A typical street in Vanice, Italy
It was so darn hot in Italy in July! It almost drove me crazy because I was sweating like a $%$#%$#...heheh.. Despite that Vanice is famous for being the City of Water, all the water still didn't make the hot summer any cooler. Oh well, I'll see what happens when I visit in winter the next time.. heheh |

Getting ready to head for Europe
This is me waiting at the airport for my plane. Hmmm.. don't really know what to say about this picture.. heheh.

Antique--->Me
Hehehe...okay.. I know this picture's retarded... But I thought it was funny that I was posing as a WWI era Austrian Monarch Soldier...

BMW Museum in Munich, Germany
At last, I've finally visited the BMW Museum in Munich. This place's like Mecca for all BMW enthusiasts => Too bad I didn't have enough time to schedule a plant tour. Next time....:) |
Mozart Festival in Salzburg
I guess the Austrians were having the annual Mozart Festival when I visited. I could hear music everywhere as I walked around the city. I should've taken a ride on one of those carriages and see how it feels like.. hehe |

Chilling at night
This is me chilling with friends at a hotel restaurant in Vienna. It was late so everyone looked sleepy. But that didn't stop some of us from going to Slovakia in the next morning! I didn't go but I heard it was a boring trip.. hehehe

Me and Professor Douglas
This is my other Professor who taught me in another class....She's from England so she has this really cool British accent when she talks...But it was fun taking her class. :)

Mozart's Birth Place
Mozart was born in the Yellow apt. behind me. The apt. has been converted to a mini museum containing some furniture, music notes and items from the 18th century. Too bad no pictures were allowed in the building... |
Neuschwanstein Castle
This is Neuschwanstein Castle, built for the Bavarian King Ludwig II in the 19th century. I think it's one of the most gorgeous castles in Europe.... Doesn't it look like one of those castles seen in fairy tales? :)

Me in Vanice
This is perhaps the most famous scenery in Vanice. Contrary to most of the beautiful Vanetian post cards I've seen in the past, the water in Vanice was rather dirty....Ack.. |
Mirabelle Garden
I think Mirabelle Garden is one of the most gorgeous gardens in Europe. It's also one of the most popular wedding locations. Really, words do no justice to Mirabelle Garden's beauty. You should check it out for yourself.. :)

Marien Platz, Munich
This is where the famous "Clock" was built, Marien Platz. I remember seeing tons and tons of people gather in the plaza just to see the clock go off at 5pm everyday.... I sure like Munich's Bavarian tradition a lot.. :) |
Me and a Ferrari F360
Oh check this out, a red Ferrari F360 parked somewhere in Munich, Germany. This must be an upscale area because this red Ferrari was the third Ferrari I saw on the same street. Sigh.. only if I could get a ride in it someday...

Salzburg, Austria
This is one of the places in Salzburg that I visited most frequently because it's very close to my classes. Notice it's very common to see rivers running in the center of a town in Europe. I guess it's because many European cities were originally built next to the water source... river.. heheh
|
Vanice Bridge
I have no idea what the historical significance of this site is. I took a picture of it only because other tourists were doing the same thing... heheh.. Gosh it was hot on that day..

Mozart's old apartment
This was where Mozart used to live when he was alive. According to my knowledge, Mozart probably lived here for at least a few years.... It too, has been converted to a museum displaying various pieces of Mozart's work.... |
Another shot of me and Justice Kennedy
This is me and Justice Kennedy at the closing dinner. Salzburg's famous Dome Platz makes a good background for this picture.. :)

Sunny day in Vanice
This picture shows how hot it was in Vanice. The weather was so humid and hot that most people either stayed home or constantly looked for shades to hide under.....I'll make sure to bring some ice with me there next time.. hehe |
Me and Ken
This is me and my friend Ken at the closing dinner in Austria....Ken and I went to quite a few places together in Europe and it was fun hanging out with him...
