Calboy1227's Crashed BMWs Page:

Looking at these wrecked bimmers is more than enough to make me weep for an entire afternoon...

Okay okay.. Don't get me wrong, I don't really enjoy posting these pix as well. But I figure that as a bimmer enthusiast, I should share as much information as I can with fellow bimmer heads. As the sayings go, even though BMWs are the Ultimate Driving Machines, they can only do their job right when their perspective owners drive them with care! The following pix are the real life proof of this statement. Always obey your speed limits and buckle up!! For better pix, simply right click on a pix and select "zoom out". SORRY, IF SOME PIX DON'T SHOW UP, PLEASE CLICK ON ON THE LINK CRASHED BMWS PROVIDED IN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE PAGE TO RELOAD. DO NOT HIT THE RELOAD BUTTON

Hamann prepared M3 racer heading for its grave
This Hamann M3 is said to have belonged to a wealthy member in some European country. Its top speed's been reported as more than 180MPH! However, this car was stolen from its perspective owner one night and fortunately/unfortunately, the cops were able to locate the theives but these car jackers didn't quit before a long car chase. Well.... you know the rest.

Shiny 1995 Silver M3 went out of control
This car belonged to Steve, who's a frequent member on the BMW message board. According to the video of this crash, it appeared as if he was trying to follow through a sharp turn on a public highway and the car just understeered, went across the other land and crashed into the ditch. It's indeed sad to say such incident would happen to an experienced driver like Steve.

Totaled M3 laying helplessly on the side of the track
This is what's left of Pablo's track ready 1997 M3 when he took the last turn a bit too fast (around 100MPH) and the tires just lost themselves. According to Pablo, it might have been the last few laps of the race and the tires might have lost most of their traction. It wasn't a minor spin out either. One of his rim/tire was found more than 80 feet away from where he car sat after the accident. I am sure glad he's okay.

I have no idea what happened to this poor M3
Oh man, I have no idea what happened to this blue M3. From the characters in the back ground, it should be somewhere in Europe. Which means that this M3 must have been the potent European M3 Evo model. With all its windows smashed and windshield gone, it seemed as if it's flipped many times before it came to stop. I wonder if its driver was okay.

A crashed M3 sedan sitting in the salvage yard
This car used to be a shiny 1997 Fern Green M3 Luxury Sedan before the crash. Now it can only sit in the salvage yard and wait for someone to strip it down and sell off its parts individually. Notice the rust along the edge of the hood, this car's probably been sitting there for a while.

A M3 on its death bed
This M3 might have been the same one pictured above. But I am not really sure. From the way its body's torn, it also appears that the car must have flipped more than a few times when it crashed. I guess sometimes it's just not a good idea to lose control in a powerful car like M3.

Head on collision
Needless to say, this Estroil blue M3 four door sedan must have crashed into something hard head on! This car might be totaled as well since most of its front end was destroyed. However, the owner might just "buff it right out" as long as he can find a decent body shop to do the job.

This M3 must have flipped over more than 20 times
You think the previous Estroil blue M3 was bad? Well just look at this one. I am not really sure if its driver was able to get away from such crash without being seriously injured. Notice that the entire roof line was almost cut and most of the body panels were bent or seriously deformed. I sure hope that no one was badly hurt in this crash.

New M5 vs. truck --> M5: 0 Truck: 1
This is what happens to a new \\$85,000 car when you run it against a truck. True, the M5 might be the fastest sedan in the world with its 400hp engine and a 0-60MPH acceleration time of a scant 4.8 sec. But when it comes to collision contest, this M5 was certainly no match for a truck. It's surprising that its doors could still be opened properly, giving the magnitude of the collision.

A 325is takes on some punishments
According to its owner, this 1993 325is had relatively low miles (about 53,000 miles or so) when it was crashed earlier last year. It's really a shame for such a well maintained car to be totaled like this. Notice this car came with the rare sports package honey comb BMW wheels, which were only offered in the 1993 and 1994 model years.

Sometimes a hot car such as the BMW M Coupe can just get a little too hot
This crash must have been a pretty serious one. Just look at the way the flames were erupting out of this M Coupe. It's as if I had a bomb implanted or something. I have no idea what might have caused this accident but I am sure this car must have hit something very flamable.

This unfortunate Dakar Yellow M3 got hit from behind
Oh, just look at what happened to this poor M3. It was hit from both back and front! Notice its exhaust was bent like melted cheese and the entire rear frame was pushed up against the rear windshield of the car. Any body shop that can repaire this M3 must be a wonder. Ironically, the collision didn't take out the rear plate on the car.

Another poor M5 sitting in the junk yard
This M5 might look not as horrible as other cars on this page, but looking at its smashed front end and the improperly closed doors, there's no reason to say that it was a minor collision this car had. What a shame, it looks like this M5 didn't have a plate yet when it crashed. I hope its driver was insured, and paid lots of money for his policy.

M3 Lightweight Race cars goes flying
I have no idea if this picture was fabricated or coincidental. All I know is that I absolute love this picture! :) Not because of what happened to its driver, but because of the way it was taken. Gotta give the photographer some credits here. Hmmm.. I hope the M3 driver was okay.

This is definitely not a BMW, but seeing this Ferrari F355 like this just makes me wanna cry
Gosh, please not a Ferrari! This car must have been in a major head on collision. Since this is a mid engine car, the owner should still be able to retain its powertrain, even though most of parts of this car probably had to be declared a total loss. Just like the previous pix of the crashed new M5, this Ferrari owner had better been insured, with lots and lots of doughs.

This is what happens when you exit a turn a bit too fast
This car must have been one of the TMS' (Will Turner's) race cars. I don't really know the story behind this crash but it seems like the car simply went out of control and took out its lights and rear bumper strips when it scrapes the wall or a structure. Compare to other cars on this page, this car should be fixed for a relatively lower cost.

Gosh I am speechless
Hmmm.. I seriously don't want to know what really happened to this poor, BMW 325is. It looks as if it's been run over by a Monster truck for more than 10 times. I wonder if its driver was playing bumper car with a military tank! Given the severity of the impact, I would say either this guy had been going over 100MPH when he crashed, or he'd fallen from the top of a cliff.

You think the red 325 was bad
How about this one for some serious wreck? If it weren't for the exhaust sitting next to the car, I don't think I could ever have guessed what this car is (or was) at all. What did this guy do anyway? Drove the car to a war zone and used it as a tank or something? He probably did. This car looks as if it's been blown up by a bazooka by Rambo. Sigh...

Okay... this really isn't a crashed bimmer.. but
Hahahahah.. this is funny... the reasony why I am laughing at this pix is that it's technically not a crashed BMW... well.. it's damaged in a way that the firefighters had to run a hose through its windows because it's blocking the fire hydrant. Another funny thing about this pix is that it's supposed to be a photoshop work. Yeap, it's said that someone made the pix the way it is. Or else it would've been just another E30 parking by the street with smashed windows.

This is why you should never trust the $dealers
Okay...it's really worse enough that BMW dealers are known for ripping people off all the time. How about crashing a customer's new M5? According to the story, a technician who took this poor M5 out for a 1,200 mile inspection did this to the car... for God's sake... Com'on!!! Estimated repair cost? \\$35,000 to $40,000. Time for repair? Approximately 3 to 4 months. I would advise the owner of this car (a poor lady, unfortunately) to use this time to file a law suit against the dealer. Sigh.

Will this M3 ever be healthy again?
The damages on this Dakar Yellow M3 don't really seem as bad as the other cars featured on this page. Granted, some major works are going to be done to this car in order to bring it back to life again. But at least this car is certainly not headed for its graveyard. According to the owner, "he's gonna repair it so it'll look like new again for only $3,500". Now, I have no idea how this guy's gonna accomplish this since this is easily going to cost more than $10k if one wants to have a quality repair job done.

Poor M3 with its bumper barely hanging on
This Dakar Yellow M3 isn't as lucky as the previous M3, which has the same color. From the way the car looks on the pix, I would say it's probably totaled or nearly totaled. Keep in mind that there's the front end damage as well. Notice there's a wrecked Lexus ES300 and a few other wrecked bimmers around this M3 as well. Poor cars. May they rest in peace.

BMW X5 goes off road
Someone said this is a BMW X5 that flipped a couple of times before the guard rails stopped the vehicle. Hmmm.. for some reason this SUV doesn't really look like a X5 to me. Someone please correct me? I also told that the driver walked away from this vehicle unharm. Lucky him. NOTE: Sorry for the mistake. I received a few emails correcting me that the vehicle shown was actually a Ford Falcon Station Wagon produced for the Australian market!

Hmmmm? Where's the other half of this 325is?
Ouch! Where's the other half of this car? I can tell it was a 325is because of the vents on the hood. Did an 18 wheeler run into this car or something? It's amazing to see pictures like this taken from a junk yard. I hope photographer was the driver who survived the crash.

Wrecked modified BMW 318is
I believe this car was a modified 318is before the owner crashed it. Fortunately, the driver's cockpit was intact so the driver was able to walk away from the accident scene. Notice the owner placed the wrecked front bumper on the hood. My 325is looked a little like this car an Infinity ran into me head on a few years ago.

Modified 325is after some fire work
This nice, modified 325is with BBS RSII 18' rims is a victim of some fire accident occurred in the shop. Notice must of the paint job is gone, as well as the plastic parts such as headlights, mirros, and front bumper. I wonder if those nice BBS rims on that car are still usable or not.

See what a tree can do?
See what a tree can do to a car? This 80s 535 was babied by its owner before the tree fell on it. Fortunately, no one was in the car when it happened.

No more front spoiler
This M3 sedan appears to be a lot more lucky compare to other cars in this page. Even though its front bumper fell off and the hood is slightly damaged, the owner should be able to buff everything out and return to its original condition. Since the front rims aren't bent, the car was probably involved in a minor front end collision.

I think this BMW is beyond help/repair
Okay, somebody please tell me what kind of BMW 3 series it was before the accident. The engine appears to be a 6 cylinder one with BMW Vano. Other than that, I can't tell what it was besides its color: red. Oh wait, I think it used to be a M3 since it has the wider M3 mouldings on its door. Sigh, I hope the driver was okay.

A new BMW E46 M3 bits the dust
Even though this crash doesn't look too serious compare to the other crashes in this page, the magnitude of damages done to this new E46 M3 is enough to make some car ethusiasts shed their tears. According to a vendor that specializes in trading wrecked M3/M5s. Up to date (Jan.-2002), there are at least 40-50 wrecked E46 M3s in this country. Geez, what are people thinking??!!
